How to Frame our Art Prints

How to Frame our Art Prints

You’ve found the perfect art print from our range of affordable Singapore art and now comes the fun part: framing it! Whether you’re curating a gallery wall or looking for a standout piece of colourful wall décor, the right frame will make your print truly shine.

Wondering what size frame to buy or if you should add a mat? We’ve got you covered with these simple home styling tips.

Know Your Print Size

Our popular Singapore art prints come in two versatile sizes:

  • A4 (21cm x 29.7cm) - perfect for small walls, shelves, or part of a gallery wall arrangement.

  • A3 (29.7cm x 42cm)  great for larger spaces or part of a bigger gallery wall arrangement.

Should You Use a Mat?

Adding a mat (or mount) can elevate your art, creating a polished, gallery-style look. It gives the artwork breathing room and draws the eye directly to the print.

If You’re Using a Mat:

    • For A4 prints, choose a frame size of 30cm x 40cm with a mat opening cut to fit A4.

    • For A3 prints, go for a 40cm x 50cm frame with a mat opening cut to fit A3.

    • Pro Tip: Neutral mat colours like white or off-white keep the focus on the vibrant colours of your print. A bright or patterned mount can add an off beat, whimsical vibe.

If You’re Not Using a Mat:

You cal also keep things simple and modern by matching your frame directly to your print size. This no-mat style is ideal if you love clean lines and bold, minimalist looks.

    • A4 print → A4 frame

    • A3 print → A3 frame

Choosing the Right Frame Style

Selecting the right frame style is just as important as the size. Here’s how to match your frame to your space:

  • White or Light Wood Frames: Fresh and airy, perfect for neutral homes.

  • Black Frames: Create striking contrast for a bold, contemporary feel.

  • Natural Wood Frames: Add warmth and texture, ideal for relaxed, nature-inspired interiors.

  • Bobbin, Bamboo or of Styled Frames: Requires a custom framer but can create a really interesting display for those who have a love for interiors.

Off the Shelf or Custom Frames

You can easily pick up off the shelf frames for A3 and A4 prints. Ikea has a good selection under $40.00 and you can also find them at Hipvan and Spotlight.

If you would like a custom option we have used both the framers opposite each other in Chinatown and think their print v. quality is excellent.
