Strait Lights x Mandai Straw-headed Bulbul Bracelet
Created in collaboration with Mandai Wildlife Group, our wildlife bracelets celebrate some of the remarkable species found across Mandai Wildlife Reserve, translating their colours, markings and stories into tiny wearable portraits.
The Straw-headed Bulbul Bracelet is inspired by one of Southeast Asia’s great songbirds, a bird known for its beautiful, complex and melodious call.
Its distinctive straw-coloured head and softly contrasting plumage become a delicate composition of Japanese glass and gold, capturing something of this small bird and its remarkable voice.
Once widespread across Southeast Asia, the straw-headed bulbul is now critically endangered, with Singapore remaining an important stronghold for the species. Mandai precinct itself is home to a significant wild population.
